Management Team

The company’s management team brings together a unique combination of skills that are ideal for Attune’s success. The team is made up of experts in storage and networking with a depth of experience in Fortune 500, as well as start-up environments. Attune has a management team that can drive the company forward in its mission to revolutionize storage networking

The management team is backed by an advisory board and board of directors comprised of the “who’s who” in storage networking, including such industry luminaries as Larry Boucher, the inventor of SCSI and successful founder of three previous storage-networking companies.

Alan Kessler
President and CEO

Alan has more than 20 years of leadership and management experience working with enterprise technology companies ranging from early stage start-ups to large, successful organizations.   Prior to joining Attune, Alan was president and CEO of Intransa Inc., an IP SAN innovator, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's growth.   Prior to that Alan was Chief Operating Officer at Palm Inc., where he was responsible for the development, licensing and expansion of the Palm OS platform, which became the most pervasive environment for handheld devices during his tenure. Alan joined Palm in 1999, when it was a subsidiary of 3Com Corporation. During his 14-year tenure at 3Com, Alan rose to the general manager and senior vice president of 3Com's Enterprise Systems Sales and Global Customer Support organization. After gaining recognition for his achievements and management skills in a series of executive roles at the company, he was subsequently selected as Palm's president and was a member of Palm's executive team charted with developing the subsidiary into an independent company and subsequent IPO. Alan then assumed the role of chief operating officer for the Platform Solutions Group, helping the platform earn more than 75 percent market share among handheld devices in 2000. Alan received a bachelor's degree with honors in Business from San Jose State University and a master's degree in Business Administration degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

Keith Corbin

Keith Corbin
CFO

Partner at CFO Connection since 2002. Previous positions include CEO of Online Staffing, an information technology services company, CFO of Hall Kinion & Associates, a public information technology staffing company, and Vice President International Finance of Addeco/Adia International, a multi-national public personnel services company. Earlier in his career he held financial management positions with American Can Company and worked six years in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche. Keith is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the City University of New York.

Gaven Fahl

Gaven Fahl
Vice President of Customer Service

Gaven Fahl brings more than 20 years of Customer Service and business management experience with enterprise solutions at both startup and public companies. Prior to joining Attune Systems, Fahl was Global Services Manager for eBay at NetApp, a storage and data management solutions provider. Previously, she spent five years as an independent consultant working on a variety of customer services initiatives with companies such as Federal Express, Polycom and OnStor. Before her independent consulting work, Fahl was Vice President of Professional Services for noHold, a knowledge management solutions company. She also held service management positions with Latitide, Centigram and BayStone. Earlier in her career, she was responsible for a Financial Management group at Quantum. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from San Jose State University and an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University.

Carlos Fernandez

Carlos Fernandez
Vice President of Sales

Carlos brings over 20 years of sales and management excellence focused on selling hardware and software solutions within all areas of IT. Prior to joining Attune Systems, Carlos held key Sales roles for IT industry leaders as SUN Microsystems, Siebel and EMC. Carlos has led sales teams selling into the most complex federal agencies, Fortune 500 and mid-market accounts. While as a Senior Sales Director for the Convergence Technology Group at William Communications, Carlos was responsible for establishing key strategic partnerships with OEM and Channel reseller partners which resulted in a 200% growth in revenues. Previously, Carlos spent 5 years at Verizon (formerly GTE) as a Regional Sales Manager where he led the Advanced Product Group focused on selling complex data systems. Carlos is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a major in Decision Information Science.

Jill Kyte
SVP of Marketing and Business Development

Jill Kyte brings more than 25 years of marketing, business development, and sales management experience with enterprise solutions at both startup and public companies. Prior to joining Attune Systems, Kyte was vice president of corporate and field marketing at ArcSight, an enterprise security and compliance solutions provider. Previously, she spent four years at Vividence, a market research firm, as the company’s vice president of marketing and business development. Before Vividence, Kyte was vice president of strategic alliances at Portal Software, the leader in enterprise-level customer billing solutions for Internet businesses. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years at Adobe Systems; her last role at Adobe was director of OEM sales, with responsibility for more than US$65 million in revenue. She also held management positions with Sun Microsystems, GRiD Systems, and Hewlett Packard. She holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Golden Gate University.

Thomas Wong
Vice President of Engineering

Tom joins Attune Systems with more than 25 years of engineering and management experience in both early-stage and established technology companies. Prior to joining Attune, Tom founded Frezweb.com, a Web2.0 file system technology company. Previously, he was the co-founder and VP of Engineering at NeoPath Networks, a file virtualization vendor, where he built and led the NeoPath Engineering function from the ground-up, delivering alpha, beta and two successful product launches on schedule. He has also worked in various engineering and management capacities at Ingrian Systems, Sun Microsystems, Healtheon/WebMD, Tandem Computers, and Wang Laboratories. At Ingrian Systems, Tom designed and implemented the switching software for the Ingrian Level 7 Secure Content Switch appliance. At Sun Microsystems, Tom was the project lead in the SunOS file system (ufs) group and also wrote the CDROM file system (hsfs) for SunOS and Solaris. He was also a project editor for the European Computer Manufacturers Association TC 15 committee and a project editor for the International Standards Organization SC 15 committee (ISO/IEC/JTC1/SC15). Tom wrote the European Standard (ECMA 168) and the International Standard (ISO/IEC 13490) on recordable compact disk format. In addition, he has 21 U.S. patents issued along with ten published U.S. Patent applications in the file system and computer networking areas. Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and engineering from M.I.T. and a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the Wang Institute at Boston University.
