Larry Boucher
Larry Boucher, currently the founder and chief executive officer of Alacritech, invented the SCSI interface -- the industry standard for connecting storage and other peripherals to PCs and servers. Larry is a server adapter, storage and networking luminary with technical and business accomplishments that include establishing and building three successful start-up companies. In 1997, he founded next-generation networking technology start-up Alacritech, Inc. to solve the server bottleneck issue. His engineering team developed session layer interface card (SLIC®) technology, the first scalable and fully compatible technology to offload TCP/IP protocol processing from the host CPU. In 1987, Larry founded Auspex Systems, Inc., an enterprise server manufacturer, where he pioneered a networked file system design that dramatically improved the performance of Unix- and NT-based enterprise servers. In 1981, he founded Adaptec, Inc., a global leader in innovative storage solutions, where he served as its first CEO for six years. Larry received his master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and his master's degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University.

Charles Carinalli
Charles Carinalli is currently the principal of Carinalli Ventures. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Adaptive Silicon, Inc., which he joined in July of 1999. Adaptive Silicon licenses Programmable Logic Cores for the purpose of adding programmability to system-on-chip devices. In addition, Charles serves on the board of directors of Adaptive Silicon (chairman), Extreme Networks, Clearwater Networks (chairman), Resonext and TeraBlaze. He is a holder of three patents in the areas of communications and mixed-signal design. He brings over 30 years of semiconductor, systems and business management experience. From 1970 to 1996, Charles held engineering, general management and executive positions with National Semiconductor Corporation. Most recently, as senior vice president and chief technical officer, he was responsible for core process, packaging and design tool technology. In this position, he also acted as an internal venture capitalist and was chartered with the development of several entrepreneurial start-ups within National Semiconductor. From December 1996 through July 1999, he was president and CEO of Wavespan Corporation, which was acquired by Proxim in 1999. Charles has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and an Executive master's degree in Business Administration from Stanford University/AEA.

Alan Kessler
Alan has more than 20 years of leadership and management experience working with enterprise technology companies ranging from early stage start-ups to large, successful organizations. Prior to joining Attune Systems, Alan was president and CEO of Intransa Inc. an IP SAN innovator, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's growth. Prior to that Alan was general manager at Palm Inc., where he was responsible for the development, licensing and expansion of the Palm OS platform, which became the most pervasive environment for handheld devices during his tenure. Alan joined Palm in 1999, when it was a subsidiary of 3Com Corporation. During his 14-year tenure at 3Com, Alan rose to the general manager and senior vice president level after gaining recognition for his achievements and management skills in a series of executive roles at the company. He was subsequently selected as Palm's interim president, charted with recruiting a CEO and developing the subsidiary into an independent company. Alan then assumed the role of chief operating officer for the Platform Solutions Group, helping the platform earn more than 75 percent market share among handheld devices in 2000. Alan received a bachelor's degree with honors in Business from San Jose State University and a master's degree in Business Administration degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

Peter N. Loukianoff
Peter N. Loukianoff joined Alloy Ventures in January 2001 from Technology Funding, Inc. Prior to that, Peter was on the founding management teams of two venture-backed start-ups: Autonomy, Inc. (now part of Autonomy Corp. PLC, LSE: AU) and Ubiquinet, Inc. (now part of C-Cor, NASDAQ: CCBL). He also started and ran the cable division of Alliance Systems, Inc. (acquired by Mobile Data Solutions, NASDAQ: MDSI). Peter began his career as a design engineer with Zurich-based ABB, Ltd. From the beginnings of Mikhail Gorbachev's Perestroika program in 1989 through 1994, he pioneered post-Cold War-era technology joint ventures between prominent Russian scientific institutions and leading U.S. and European companies. Peter is currently on the board-of-directors of Apptera, Attune Systems, and Sapias. His prior investments include AudioBasket (acquired by eMotion, Inc.), K2 Optronics, Versata (NASDAQ: VATA) and ZipRealty (NASDAQ: ZIPR). Peter earned a B.S. in Engineering and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Barry X Lynn
Barry X Lynn is the president and CEO of Be eXceL management, inc. and director/general partner of Shoreline Venture Management. Be eXceL is currently focused on management consulting for early stage technology companies and Shoreline Ventures is a venture capital firm, investing primarily in early stage opportunities. Prior to founding Be eXceL, Barry was with Wells Fargo for 16 years, his last position being the president of Wells Fargo Technology Services. Previously, he served as the chief information officer (CIO) of Wells Fargo & Co. where he implemented the first enterprise-wide network, which was completely based on Internet technology. He changed the bank to an open architecture, which became highly touted as the best in banking by most in the industry. As a result, the time to market decreased by an order of magnitude. Before that, Barry ran Wells Fargo's Private Banking Operations and their Investment Operations. He founded and became the first president of Wells Fargo Securities and was named one of the ten hottest and most influential CIO's in the nation by the prestigious Future Banker magazine. Barry now serves as chairman of Callixa and 3TERA; director of Alacritech and Layer 7 Technologies; and advisor to Primitive Logic, Eurekify and Certagon; and, principal of Where Eagles Soar.
